How it started
with Founder, Xanthe Addison
For over 20 years, design, marketing and advertising, running my own studio, gave me everything - incredible highs, burnout, and every lesson in between. It’s one of the fastest paced industries on the planet. No regrets. But from 2021 I’ve been searching for what’s next, completing courses and leaning into the opportunity for change: real estate? architecture? innovation? horticulture? I’ve been trying to find my next calling.
Then in early 2026 life forced me to slow down. My teenage son had a mountain biking accident, and during his recovery our garden became our sanctuary, a place where we could find hope, regulate and breathe in energy.
Hours spent outside, reimagining garden beds together, dreaming up flowers everywhere - it was where we found peace when everything else felt uncertain.
That season cracked something open.
For years friends had made passing comments like “you create beautiful spaces, I feel so relaxed” “what are you designing next?” “I could sit in your garden all day” - and for the first time I really listened. The evolution I’d been searching for was right in front of me the whole time.
So with a deep remembering and a full heart I started Idyllic.
Idyllic is about creating heaven right here on earth - gardens and landscapes designed to evoke feeling, not just function. Spaces to breathe, feel held, see all the magical beauty unfolding before you, places to connect, be inspired and create environmental sustainability. Together we can create a world filled with more beauty, more calm, more wonder.
